Infant Care&Curriculum (6 wks-12 months)
Although the first five years of childhood are the most important to development, the infant time period is perhaps the most significant. Children begin learning at birth. As educators, we work together with parents to achieve a healthy balance between home and Kiddie U.
Our teachers will encourage babies to communicate by playing games like peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. We will read, sing and talk to your baby to build a strong foundation for language, social and emotional development and learning. Through holding, positive praise, eye contact, and providing other basic needs we will develop a trusting and nurturing relationship with your baby. Our teachers will work closely with your child to promote large gross motor skills to build strength with head and core control.
Feeding, sleeping and other activities are all individualized and will complement your schedule at home until the first 6 months or so.
Around 6-8 months of age, we will begin transitioning your baby to a more structured schedule that will be followed while your little one is in our care.
At around 10 month of age, we introduce table foods and a sippy cup to prepare your child for the next stage.
E-Daily reports are provided to update each child’s family on feeding, nap times, diapering and all other activities accomplished each day.
Progress Reports will be provided as your child is about to graduate from classroom to classroom. These reports will be a tool to communicate how your child is measuring on recommended milestones from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
